Features:

  • 1/2.7 inch 2.11 million pixel CCD: Features a 1/2.7 inch 2.11 million pixel CCD. Can record at: Large: 1600 x 1200 pixels; Small: 640 x 480 pixels.
  • Canon zoom lens: PowerShot S100 includes a 2x optical zoom lens that covers from 35mm (wide angle) to 70mm (telephoto), in terms of 35mm film. The F2.8-4.0 aperture is amazing for such a compact, high quality lens.
  • 3-point AiAF: Uses three different focus points, and selects from the three focus results the point that will assure the best focus on the target.
  • Digital signal processing IC: High speed, high quality image processing is a hallmark of the independently developed digital signal processing IC. The results is fast image processing, with clear and fresh-looking reproductions. This high-speed signal processor is also used to rapidly switch between images during playback.
  • Digital zoom: When used as a viewfinder, the liquid crystal monitor utilizes a digital teleconverter function with a maximum magnification of four times. Combined with the optical 2 X zoom lens, it offers a maximum magnification capability of eight times.
  • Internal memory: An internal memory buffer stores images until they can be transferred to the CompactFlash card. The combination with the digital signal processor IC achieves a shooting interval of about 1.7seconds
  • High-speed replay: High speed replay of stored images at the touch of a button thanks to the high speed digital signal processor.
  • Slow synchro-capable flash unit: In addition to auto, red-eye relief, on, and off, the flash settings available for selection include slow synchro. Selection of slow synchro slows the shutter speed and adjusts the flash timing to that speed. Effective for taking shots against nighttime backdrops, etc.
